Equipment Service Technician
Overall Role Summary:
This position combines technical equipment repair, field service support, customer assistance, inventory/distribution operations, and administrative service coordination. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical/electrical aptitude, organizational abilities, and experience working in a hands-on service environment.
Key Points Summary:
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment.
- Diagnoses equipment issues by observing operation and identifying defective components.
- Disassembles equipment, repairs/replaces parts, and ensures safe functionality.
- Supports field service activities, including demonstrations and on-site troubleshooting.
- Handles warehouse and distribution tasks such as picking, packing, shipping, and invoicing orders.
- Performs inventory cycle counts and supports distribution center operations.
- Provides phone support and basic technical troubleshooting for customers.
- Processes order entry and maintains records within SAP.
- Maintains accurate service databases, product files, and warranty/parts records.
- Coordinates product testing and analyzes failures for continuous improvement.
- Orders and manages shop supplies.
- Serves as backup support for internal programs as needed.
- Requires reliable attendance, punctuality, and full on-site work due to hands-on responsibilities.
Additional Essential Functions:
- Attendance/Punctuality: Consistently at work and on time; ensures responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
- Work Location: This role requires work to be performed on-site; remote work is not practical due to the hands-on repair, maintenance, and field service nature of the position.
